What is the whole building called?

How long can we hire the rooms for? Is there a curfew?

Accepted Answer

The hire period stated in the quote is 8 hours. This is flexible according to your needs, and a longer hire period can be agreed. Extensions are available by the hour for an additional charge, subject to prior agreement, with staffing and drinks charged separately. We have no fixed closing time.
By prior arrangement, you can decide on the day to extend your event by one hour (subject to a charge, plus staffing and drinks costs).

How do I get to Spreespeicher, and is parking available?

Spreespeicher is easy to reach by local and long-distance transport. We recommend using our route planner: Getting to Spreespeicher
Two parking spaces are available for the organiser per event. Spreespeicher does not offer any additional parking, including for guests. Paid parking is available nearby, for example in the nhow Hotel car park next door or at parking meters in the surrounding residential streets. We recommend travelling by train and public transport: Spreespeicher is very close to Warschauer Straße station, making it central and easy to reach.

Is there a cloakroom on site?

We are happy to provide an unstaffed cloakroom. The location and number of coat racks can be adjusted. Cloakroom attendants can be booked through us on request.

Question 5

Where can I go to smoke?

Accepted Answer

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the building. Smoke may trigger the fire alarm system. Please use the Spree terrace for smoking.

Question 6

What exactly does the terrace area include?

Accepted Answer

Each venue has a terrace area furnished with lounge furniture and parasols. The lower terrace (riverside promenade) is a public area and is not part of the venue, but we can arrange a bespoke seating layout there for you on request. If you need additional outdoor furniture, we will be happy to hire it for you at an extra charge.

Are there enough toilets nearby?

Toilets are available at ground level in the Spreespeicher corridor.
However, these are open to the public and may also be used by guests attending other events. For events with 150 or more guests, a toilet attendant service must be booked at an additional charge.

Can we also hold our wedding ceremony at Spreespeicher?

Accepted Answer

Of course, you can hold your wedding ceremony here at Spreespeicher immediately before your reception. Just ask us, and we will send you all the information.

Question 9

Is in-house catering available?

Accepted Answer

Our fully equipped in-house kitchen provides high-quality catering with a distinctive culinary touch. Choose from buffets, a seated set menu, finger food, table buffets, midnight snacks and reception bites. Naturally, all dishes are prepared to suit your wishes, whether vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or lactose-free. Food is charged according to your actual selection, with reduced rates for children based on their age.

Can a barbecue go ahead in bad weather?

A barbecue on the Spree terrace is a wonderful highlight for your event. Please note, however, that in bad weather (rain or storms), the event manager may move the cooking into the kitchen to ensure the quality of the food and keep preparation running smoothly.
In 95% of cases, everything goes ahead as planned. However, please understand that if the weather prevents us from barbecuing on the terrace, we may decide to grill in the kitchen instead.

Can we hire an external catering company?

You can also appoint an external catering company for your event. If you choose an external caterer, we charge separately for coordination, the provision of food preparation areas and buffet tables, including table linen.

What drinks packages are available?

We offer four tiered drinks packages for your event:
‘Alcohol-free’ drinks package: coffee, speciality coffees and soft drinks
‘Classic’ drinks package: coffee, speciality coffees, soft drinks, beer, wine and Prosecco
‘Longdrinks’ drinks package: everything in ‘Classic’, plus 5 long drinks of your choice
‘Longdrinks & Cocktails’ drinks package: everything in ‘Classic’, plus 5 long drinks and 3 cocktails of your choice
Drinks packages can be adjusted throughout the evening. Drinks cannot be charged solely on a consumption basis. We will be happy to send you a full drinks menu.

Can we also bring our own spirits?

You can generally bring your own spirits for a corkage fee per bottle (maximum 1 litre). If you have chosen the ‘Longdrinks’ drinks package, you can bring your own spirits free of charge. We would be happy to advise you on bringing your ideas to life.

Question 14

Which wines are available?

Accepted Answer

Our Classic, Longdrink and Cocktail packages each include two red wines, two white wines and one rosé. You are welcome to taste the wines on offer in advance. If you would prefer to choose your own wines, you can bring your favourites at no extra charge.

Would it be possible to swap any of the drinks if needed?

For an additional charge, you can swap drinks for alternatives of your choice within the same price range. Any price difference will be charged separately. If you would like to bring additional drinks as part of the drinks package, we charge a handling fee to cover storage, disposal and chilling.

How are staff hours calculated?

Our staffing hours include one hour each for preparation and clearing up. Any additional time required will be charged separately.
Depending on your guest numbers, we require a minimum number of staff to provide you and your guests with the best possible service and uphold our quality standards. For this reason, we cannot accommodate external bar or service staff. Bringing your own staff significantly affects our ability to maintain quality standards, manage service routes, handle equipment and furniture, and clear down after the event. Trust in our experience and relax: ‘Service means seeing the entire business through the customer's eyes.’

A permanently installed lighting and sound system is included in all venues, creating a fantastic atmosphere for dancing and partying. You are not permitted to bring your own sound system. We will be happy to liaise with your DJ, band or other performers about technical requirements.
The system is also designed for meetings and conferences, delivering excellent sound throughout the rooms.

Can you also provide microphones?

We provide one wireless microphone free of charge for your event. We can also arrange additional microphones for an extra fee. If your technical requirements go beyond this, we will be happy to obtain a bespoke quote from our technical partner.

Question 24

Can music also be played through speakers in the outdoor area?

Accepted Answer

Music can also be played on the terrace. This is permitted until 22:00, provided no other event is taking place at the same time. We can hire the necessary speakers for you at an additional cost.

Can we book a DJ through Spreespeicher?

Accepted Answer

We offer a DJ for 5 hours, with additional hours available at an extra charge. You are also welcome to book your own DJ or band to provide the music. Please note that bringing your own sound system is not permitted.

Question 26

Can bands also perform at the venues?

Accepted Answer

When booking a band or similar musical act, please note and inform the performers that acoustic drum kits are not permitted at our venues; only electronic drum kits may be used. We will be happy to send you an overview of our technical equipment. If the equipment available does not meet your requirements, we can hire additional equipment from our technical partner for you.

Question 27

Is a Wi-Fi / LAN connection available?

Each event space has 2 LAN ports offering direct, wired internet access. You can connect your device to the internet using a cable. You and your guests can also connect via our Wi-Fi hotspot, ‘SPREESPEICHER GUEST’. Our service manager will provide vouchers with login details. Each voucher can only be used for one device. We can also provide a dedicated network for your guests. You can choose the network name and password yourself (minimum 8 characters). Our IT service provider can set up this network for an additional charge.

Question 28

Can we bring our own sound system?

Accepted Answer

There is no need to bring your own sound system, as all our rooms are equipped with high-quality audio systems. Noise regulations mean that our sound systems are limited to a maximum of 97 decibels indoors. This maximum volume is comparable to that in nightclubs, while still allowing you and your guests unrestricted use of the Spree terrace throughout the night. The terrace therefore remains accessible after 22:00.
You are therefore not permitted to bring your own sound system. In exceptional circumstances, external equipment may be brought in for a band. However, this requires speakers that can only be controlled via a mixing desk, and a power amplifier monitored by a Spreespeicher technician through regular noise measurements while the external sound system is in use. You will be charged for this service.

Can music also be played in the outdoor area?

Music can also be played on the terrace. This is permitted until 22:00, provided no other event is taking place at the same time. We can hire the necessary speakers for you at an additional cost.

Can we book a DJ through Spreespeicher?

Accepted Answer

We offer a DJ for 6 hours, with additional hours available at an extra charge. You are also welcome to book your own DJ or band to provide the music. Please note that bringing your own sound system is not permitted.

Are fog machines allowed?

Smoke machines are not permitted due to our sensitive fire alarm system.

Question 32

Is scattering flower petals, rice or similar items allowed in the venues?

Accepted Answer

No, as the petals leave colour stains on the floor that are difficult to remove or clean.

Question 33

Are confetti machines and cannons allowed?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, confetti is not permitted at our venue as it is difficult to remove. Additional cleaning charges will apply if this rule is not followed.

Can we use the fireplace at Capitol Yard Golf Lounge?

Accepted Answer

The fireplace in the Capitol Yard Golf Lounge can be lit on request for an additional charge and blends harmoniously with the room’s overall design. It is not a traditional fireplace; it burns bioethanol.

Question 35

Can I use the TV screen for my event?

Accepted Answer

You are welcome to use the TV screen at the entrance to the Capitol Yard Golf Lounge free of charge to display a personalised welcome message.

Question 36

How far away are the nearest boat landing stages?

Accepted Answer

Landing stages for Stern- und Kreisschifffahrt and Reederei Riedel are within walking distance of the venue, outside the Uber Arena (approx. 7 minutes) and the Fernsehwerft (approx. 5 minutes).
Directly in front of Spreespeicher is a landing stage authorised exclusively for solar-powered boats.
Alternatively, boats can dock at other drop-off points if the relevant boat operator registers in advance.

Question 37

What decoration options are available?

We can decorate your gala tables, buffet, poseur tables and more to suit your individual wishes. We would be happy to send you our decoration packages. You are, of course, welcome to bring your own decorations. Any decorations and other equipment you bring must be collected between 10:00 and 12:00 the following day at the latest (or on Monday for Saturday events). Gifts and money must be taken with you on the night.

Three events at once. How does that work with the music?

As long as at least background music is playing in all venues, there will be no disturbance.

Question 39

Can we drive up to the waterfront promenade?

Accepted Answer

The waterfront promenade is a public highway. Extended parking is only permitted with a special permit. However, the wedding car may stop briefly to allow passengers to get out.

Is there somewhere for children to sleep?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, we cannot offer separate sleeping facilities for younger guests. However, provided no other event is taking place at the same time, you may be able to hire the adjoining room by prior arrangement.

Are dogs allowed?

Accepted Answer

Dogs are welcome in our event spaces provided they are supervised. Other animals are only permitted by prior arrangement with Spreespeicher.
